Sanjay Guglani is the Founder and CIO of Silverdale Funds, and CEO of Silverdale Capital Pte. Ltd, which is licensed by Monetary Authority of Singapore for fund management – accredited investors (AILFMC)..

Sanjay manages over a dozen funds, inter alia: Silverdale Bond Fund, a rare internally leveraged open-ended bond fund in the world. It invests in investment grade short duration US dollar bonds, returning 8%-9% per annum, making it a Top Decile bond fund, winning several accolades from WealthBriefingAsia, HFM, Eurekahedge, AI Hedge Funds, Wealth & Finance, Investors’ Choice, etc. and ranked by Bloomberg amongst Top-5 Asian Funds. Silverdale Fund of Funds (Fixed Income) is also actively managed by Sanjay for stable returns and half-yearly dividend distribution.

Earlier, as Founder-Managing Director of Silverdale UK, Sanjay’s firm channelized over US$ 4 billion of investments in emerging markets, including making controlling stake investments in Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, India, etc. in joint ventures with Goldman Sachs, Lehman Bros, Morgan Stanley, etc. He was instrumental in creating offshore equity and credit derivatives market for mid-cap Indian corporates. His firm was consistently ranked amongst the Top-3 investment banks for Indian convertibles by Bloomberg, Reuters, Dealogic, etc.

Sanjay started his entrepreneurial career as Founder-Managing Director of Saksham Group, which was then one of the largest external fund managers in India. He established one of the largest wealth management companies in India, retailing mutual funds and insurance products. He was amongst the pioneers in private equity transactions in India.

Prior to that, Sanjay was instrumental in setting up capital market ventures for GE Capital (then, SRF Finance), and in managing one of the largest cash-futures arbitrage books in India. He was also instrumental in creating (then) the largest retail Pass Through Certificate (PTC) issuance in India.

Sanjay started his professional career in 1990 by launching one of the first retail portfolio management schemes in India.

Sanjay is highly acclaimed authority on fixed income investments, and his views are widely sought by various authorities, media, and academies. His views have been broadcasted by prestigious newspapers and magazines such as The Strait Times, Economic Times, The Mint, Hindustan Times, India Se, etc, as well as TV channels such as Reuters TV, Channel News Asia, ET Now, etc.

Sanjay has served on the National Advisory Committee on SMEs, and presented technical papers at several forums, including at United Nations, Switzerland. He is closely associated with the academic world, being guest lecturer in several business schools, including Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), London Business School (LBS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), SP Jain School of Global Management, Singapore Management University (SMU), etc.

By qualification, Sanjay is a Chartered Accountant, Management Accountant, Company Secretary, and Sloan Fellow of Management from London Business School (as British Chevening Scholar).
