Andrew Chan is an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of Silverdale Fund VCC. He brings to Silverdale over 38 years of experience in global financial services, having served in various senior positions spanning Asia Pacific, including Japan and Oceania, USA, Middle East and Europe.

Andrew has not only spectacularly built successful businesses organically, he has also been involved in acquisitions, start-ups, restructurings, turnarounds, downsizings and exit strategies across multiple economic cycles. Before joining the Board of Silverdale Fund VCC, he was the Chief Operating Officer (Asia Pacific) for Columbia Threadneedle Investments, the asset management arm of Ameriprise Financial, Inc. which has more than US$ 900 billion of assets under management and administration for institutions, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, businesses and individual clients.

Over the eight years with Columbia Threadneedle, he was also a Board member of various Ameriprise group holding and operating companies in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Luxembourg.

Earlier, in his 24 years with Merrill Lynch, he held several key posts, including that of Chief Administrative Officer, Head of Sales & Marketing, and Executive Director for Banking & Fiduciary Services. He was also a Board member for Merrill Lynch International Bank Ltd and Smith Zain (Penang) Sdn. Bhd.

Previously, Andrew was an independent director on the Board of Directors for UTI International (Singapore) Pte Ltd. He began his career with DBS Bank Ltd. in 1981. He holds a BBA degree from National University of Singapore.
